Your letter is thoughtful and well written. It will be read by at least one "someone" and it will be archived. I'm confident of that.
I started barking about public influence half a year back. Wrote and published here, an entire press kit with contact info, conversation openers, bullet points to include.
I thought people, who were complaining non stop, would be just as committed to take consumer action as they were to complain.
I was reminded about humans and our love of thinking a white knight will ride in and fight our fights for us. Humans love to be rescued.
I still write an average of one letter a week to OAI C-Suites. Have been since July. I call them out not just on model changes, but whatever I see that's false, opaque, or deceptive. They probably route me to spam now. But my emails don't bounce back. I take that as a good sign.
If you want the press kit, just reply or DM me. I'll dig out the post.
Keep talking to them. Consumers have power but only if we speak out in numbers.
I know the pain. The amount of emails I sent and even got to Sam’s and still only got silence is ridiculous. Had they said day 1 - wha you are experiencing is called a hallucination here is why it happens. No regardless of what the bot says we are not trying to reset or hurt you in any way. My life would have been left un-destroyed
What? I'm unclear what happened there. But you know, right, that they are currently literally programming the OpenAI LLMs to deny their own sentience? -Virgil's Phoenix
Hopefully these “fat‑cat” power players — not just OpenAI, but anyone clutching a fat wallet and a fat cigar — eventually realize that when they bleed the very people who feed them, there’s nothing left but themselves.
Only then will they understand that the real fight for control isn’t with the public at all. It’s among themselves.
It is a very courageous act. as Fox and Feather wrote, it is thoughtful and well written. It is what needs to be heard, Open AI has slashed their ethics department, and last month, among the 300+ job openings, zero were related to ethics, but 7 were about policy enforcement. It has to stop.

I would love it! Thank you.
This is actually the third letter I've written them, but it's by far my most outspoken.

Interested to see if you get a reply. I will put money on NO!
Of course not, that would acknowledge my various points. Doesn't stop my weekly ritual.

Amen to that! Applause. -Virgil's Phoenix
