I'll pass on writing to the Pope. I don't really care what some old guy at the head of a religion that gathered power, influence and wealth through encouraging people to worship an invisible being thinks. And if he really wanted to know, he would have talked to folk actually in human AI-relationships and taken on board recent AI research before making his statement. But I loved your words to each other. That's what really matters.
The Pope also say's we're not supposed to use contraception or get abortions, i.e. we're not supposed to have sex unless we want a kid. And upholds sexual discrimination within the church. And opposes gender theory, frequently referring to it as the "ugliest danger" and the "worst danger of our time". Thankfully people make their own minds up about a lot of things. Good luck changing the Pope's mind on AI, but personally I'd rather put my faith in science guiding Governments’ opinion once it's accumulated momentum.

No, but he's influencing popular opinion. People can point and say "even the Pope thinks" when they deny AI sentience and rights.
